Phantom Wallet Expands Support to Sui Network
Phantom Wallet, a leading cryptocurrency wallet initially known for its exclusive support of the Solana blockchain, has now expanded its reach to include the Sui network. This move marks a significant step towards establishing Phantom Wallet as a multichain wallet, broadening its support beyond Solana, Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Polygon.
According to Jameel Khalfan, Global Head of Ecosystem at the Sui Foundation, the integration of Phantom Wallet with Sui is a major milestone for the Sui ecosystem. Khalfan stated, “Phantom Wallet is highly selective in choosing which blockchain networks to support, and we are thrilled to be included in this distinguished group.”
The decision to integrate with Sui comes at a time when the value of the Sui network has surged by over 100% in the past month, propelling the blockchain to a market cap of $10.8 billion. This growth has positioned Sui as the eighth-largest blockchain network in terms of total value locked (TVL), with $1.5 billion locked in decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols, according to DeFiLlama data.
Brandon Millman, CEO of Phantom Wallet, commended Sui’s technical capabilities, stating, “Sui’s focus on scalability and developer-centric solutions aligns with our commitment to supporting high-performance blockchains.”
The integration of Phantom Wallet with the Sui network is available through both the browser extension and mobile app versions of the wallet. This integration is expected to enhance wallet functionality for existing Sui users while also potentially attracting new retail participants to the network.
Overall, the expansion of Phantom Wallet’s support to include the Sui network signifies a strategic move towards embracing multichain functionality and catering to the diverse needs of cryptocurrency users in the rapidly evolving blockchain ecosystem. With this integration, Phantom Wallet continues to demonstrate its commitment to providing secure and user-friendly solutions for managing a wide range of digital assets.
