A Warning Issued by a Russian Financial Expert About Hamster Kombat Game
After the conclusion of its first season, a popular game called Hamster Kombat has sparked complaints from players, leading to a warning from a Russian financial expert. Many players in Russia expressed disappointment as they believed they would make substantial profits from playing the game.
Victor Pekov, an independent financial crime specialist in the crypto space, highlighted that some players had unrealistic expectations and thought they could get rich by playing Hamster Kombat. Pekov clarified that the game developers never made any promises of large financial rewards.
In an interview with RTVI, Pekov mentioned that players overestimated their chances of making money through Hamster Kombat. Some players aimed to accumulate enough in-game currency to exchange it for real money, but the developers had not guaranteed any income. Despite some players only earning $5 to $15 after months of playing, Pekov explained that this outcome was within expectations.
“Many individuals playing Hamster Kombat were hoping to amass a significant amount of in-game currency to later convert it into real money. It’s essential to understand that the development team never made any promises regarding potential earnings,” Pekov stated.
Some players resorted to extreme measures, such as purchasing massage guns to increase their tapping speed. However, the game developers cautioned that certain players used unfair tactics, like bots, and would be excluded from receiving rewards.
Further discontent arose when developers announced that players could only claim a portion of their token allocations, with the remainder being vested for several months. This decision triggered a mix of frustration and resignation among players, with some labeling the game as a scam.
Despite the ongoing controversy, the developers reiterated that no significant earnings were guaranteed to players. As Hamster Kombat continues to evolve and with a planned HMS token listing event scheduled for September, the outcome of the situation remains uncertain.
