EA Capital Obtains Regulatory License for Blockchain Technology in South Africa
EA Capital, a prominent financial service provider focusing on blockchain technology in South Africa, has recently announced that it has obtained a regulatory license in the region. The company has been granted a Category I license as a Crypto Asset Service Provider by the Financial Sector Conduct Authority.
Since 2022, EA Capital has been operating as a regulated Financial Services Provider and an Accountable Institution under the Financial Intelligence Centre.
According to a recent LinkedIn post by the company, the acquisition of this license signifies South Africa’s commitment to regulating the digital asset space in order to protect investors and consumers, while also enhancing the credibility of the sector.
