Web3 payments provider Transak has announced a partnership with Soneium to bring mainstream users to the newly launched blockchain network. This collaboration aims to onboard users who are interested in utilizing the Ethereum layer 2 platform’s web3 infrastructure and services. Transak, a U.S.-based payments provider with a tech hub in Bengaluru, India, and offices in various countries, will work closely with Soneium to facilitate the onboarding process for mainstream users.
Sony Group has made a significant foray into the blockchain and web3 space with the introduction of the Soneium platform, an Ethereum layer 2 blockchain developed in collaboration with Startale Labs. This platform, built using the OP Stack, was unveiled on August 23 and has already integrated key players in the crypto and blockchain industry, including Optimism, Alchemy, Circle, The Graph, Chainlink, and Pyth Network as a price feeds provider.
Transak’s partnership with Soneium is expected to attract a wide range of web3 applications to the platform, leveraging Sony’s influence and diverse use cases. This will particularly benefit projects in the gaming, music, and entertainment sectors, aiming to reach mainstream users through the Soneium blockchain platform.
Sota Watanabe, director of Sony Block Solutions Labs, expressed excitement about collaborating with Transak to bring Soneium to mainstream users. Transak’s payment infrastructure, available in over 160 countries and integrated with more than 350 apps, will offer users a seamless onboarding experience to the Soneium platform. With multiple payment options, including bank transfers, credit/debit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay, users will have convenient access to buying and selling digital assets and non-fungible tokens on the platform.
