The Unparalleled Solution for Data Privacy in Public Blockchains
The CEO of Partisia Blockchain Foundation, Adrienne Youngman, discussed in an interview with CoinDesk the unique position of Partisia Blockchain in addressing the issue of data privacy in public blockchains. Youngman emphasized the “provenance and depth of experience” of Partisia Blockchain, which sets it apart from its competitors.
For years, privacy has been a concern for public blockchains, leading enterprises and institutions to hesitate in utilizing the technology due to the exposure of sensitive data. Miguel Morel, the CEO of crypto analytics platform Arkham, previously stated that publicly available blockchains are not ideal for keeping private information secure.
Partisia Blockchain claims to offer complete data privacy through its advanced multiparty computation (MPC) technology, making it the industry’s most secure solution for interoperable token and data bridges in public blockchains. Despite competition from companies like Fireblocks, Zama.ai, and Chainlink, Partisia’s unique positioning lies in its extensive experience.
The origins of Partisia Blockchain trace back to 1988 when Danish cryptographer Ivan Damgård co-wrote the first paper on multiparty computation (MPC) during his PHD studies at Aarhus University. Damgård later founded Partisia in 2008, applying MPC solutions for Danish and Norwegian governments, multinational corporations, and now integrating it with blockchain technology for private deployments.
Youngman highlighted Partisia’s successful track record of over 16 years, including collaborations with Danish health authorities to use patient data while maintaining privacy. The company has also partnered with global leaders like Bosch and humanitarian organizations like the Red Cross to enhance efficiency and safety in aid distribution in conflict zones.
MPC, a cryptographic technique utilized by Partisia Blockchain, enhances security by distributing secrets among multiple parties, preventing any single entity from having complete control over the data. Unlike Zero Knowledge Proofs, MPC offers greater composability and enables more complex queries without revealing sensitive information.
The MPC token serves as the native token of the Partisia blockchain, further solidifying its commitment to data privacy and security.
