Chainlink, the decentralized oracle network, recently announced that Soneium, an Ethereum L2 blockchain developed by Sony Block Solutions Labs, has become a part of the Chainlink Scale program. This partnership grants Soneium access to Chainlink data feeds on the Soneium Minato testnet. Chainlink data feeds are trusted by leading companies such as Base, Starknet, and Sonic Labs (formerly known as the Fantom Foundation), providing secure and real-time data essential for the development of decentralized applications (dApps) on Soneium.
The collaboration also involves the integration of the Chainlink Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) as Soneium’s primary cross-chain infrastructure. Jun WATANABE, the Chairman of Sony Block Solutions Labs, emphasized the reliability and security that Chainlink brings to Soneium users. Watanabe believes that Chainlink’s technology will enhance the experience for developers and end users on the Soneium platform.
Soneium was launched in August 2024 as part of Sony’s vision to mainstream Web3 for billions of individuals. The platform focuses on offering innovative solutions to real-world challenges and advancing the growth and maturity of the blockchain industry. The Chainlink Scale program aims to support the development of Layer 2 blockchains and ecosystems, with participation from various blockchain ecosystems like Avalanche, Metis, and Starknet.
