Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse and cofounder Chris Larsen are scheduled to make an appearance at the upcoming eighth annual fintech conference hosted by the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. The event is set to take place on Oct. 22 and Oct. 23, and will delve into various topics such as tokenized deposits, the tokenization of real-world assets, and the impact of fintech on the modern financial landscape.
Julapa Jagtiani, a senior economist at the FRB Philadelphia, expressed that the main objective of the conference is to engage in discussions about the future of the fintech industry. The organizing committee includes representatives from prestigious institutions such as the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Cambridge, and the Brookings Institution.
Chris Larsen’s participation in the event is particularly noteworthy as the billionaire is known to rarely attend such gatherings. The panel of speakers also includes prominent figures in the fintech industry such as Paul Grewal, Coinbase’s top lawyer, Sheila Warren, the head of the Crypto Council for Innovation, Zach Perret, CEO of Plaid, and Penny Lee, the head of the Financial Technology Association.
Prior to the event hosted by the FRB Philadelphia, Ripple will be hosting its own Swell conference on Oct. 15 and Oct. 16 in Miami, Florida. This will mark the company’s eighth annual Swell conference, with previous events being held in cities like Toronto, London, Singapore, and Dubai.
In the midst of these upcoming events, there are rumors circulating about a potential SEC appeal against Ripple. The deadline for the agency’s decision is looming on Oct. 6, adding an element of anticipation to the fintech landscape.
