With a continuous surge in development activity, the layer-1 blockchain MultiversX (EGLD) remains at the forefront of the digital asset gaming sector, as reported by the crypto analytics firm Santiment.
Santiment recently shared on the social media platform X that MultiversX, formerly known as Elrond, has recorded a remarkable 264.9 notable GitHub events in the last 30 days.
What sets MultiversX apart is its distributed, proof-of-stake blockchain network, boasting decentralization through over 3,000 nodes. The project’s primary goal is to empower developers in creating next-generation applications. Since May, MultiversX has surpassed Ethereum-based virtual reality platform Decentraland (MANA) in GitHub events, solidifying its position as a leader in the crypto gaming space.
Decentraland continues to hold the second position with 174.47 notable GitHub events in the past month, while the non-fungible token (NFT) layer-2 scaling solution Immutable X (IMX) secured the third spot with 78.37 events.
Santiment emphasizes that it excludes routine updates and follows a meticulous methodology to gather data on GitHub events, ensuring reliability and accuracy in its analysis.
The analytics firm has previously highlighted that robust development activity within a crypto project signifies confidence from developers in the protocol’s success. It also serves as a reassuring sign of legitimacy, reducing the likelihood of the project being an exit scam.
