LINE NEXT Inc. and Kaia DLT Foundation to Introduce Mini Dapps and Dapp Portal in 2025
In an exciting collaboration, LINE NEXT Inc., the Web3 innovation arm of LINE, and the Kaia DLT Foundation are gearing up to launch a groundbreaking initiative in the world of decentralized applications. The introduction of “Mini Dapps” and a dedicated Dapp Portal in the first quarter of 2025 promises to revolutionize the accessibility of Web3 tools for millions of users.
A New Era of Web3 Accessibility
The launch of Mini Dapps is part of the Kaia Wave program, designed to empower global Web3 developers. Out of a competitive pool of over 800 applicants, 30 teams have been selected for the initial phase. LINE NEXT and Kaia have ambitious plans to expand this initiative, aiming to include 150 additional Mini Dapp projects in the first half of 2025. Developers can stay updated on the latest project selections through LINE NEXT’s Dapp Portal on Medium and the Kaia Wave website.
“LINE NEXT has been dedicated to enhancing access to Web3 services for both internet users and developers. We are focused on introducing a wide range of Web3 Dapps and expanding our user base, particularly in key LINE Messenger markets like Japan, Thailand, and Taiwan.” – Youngsu Ko, CEO of LINE NEXT
Some notable Mini Dapps among the first 30 projects include:
- Bombie: A project by Pluto Studio that amassed 43 million users and achieved top sales rankings within six months.
- Shin-chan’s Match Daily: A casual mini-game inspired by the popular Crayon Shin-chan animated series.
- Captain Tsubasa -RIVALS- on LINE: A soccer game based on the Captain Tsubasa manga series.
- Heroic Arena: An ACG-style idle clicker game with strategic battles in a multiplayer arena.
- Superz: A wellness-focused Dapp that encourages fitness habits and offers tangible rewards.
Comprehensive Support for Developers
Selected teams developing Kaia-powered Mini Dapps will receive various resources, including a software development kit (SDK), fee delegation, co-marketing opportunities, and investment prospects through Kaia Wave. This support framework aims to simplify the integration of Dapps within LINE Messenger and the Dapp Portal, lowering barriers for developers.
“Kaia is committed to creating a user-centric Web3 ecosystem that is highly accessible. We are thrilled to offer a convenient Web3 service platform within LINE Messenger and will continue to innovate blockchain technology to drive Web3 adoption globally.” – Dr. Sam Seo, Chairman of Kaia DLT Foundation
The Dapp Portal will serve as a central hub for users to discover, download, and engage with Mini Dapps directly within LINE Messenger. This platform will provide a seamless experience for users to interact with decentralized applications, access rewards, and trade virtual assets. By integrating Web3 functionality into the familiar LINE Messenger interface, LINE NEXT aims to make Web3 more accessible to mainstream users.
Developer-Centric SDK for Kaia-Powered Apps
In addition to launching Mini Dapps, LINE NEXT has introduced an SDK for developers to simplify the process of building and deploying Mini Dapps on the Kaia chain. This toolkit will support both the selected Kaia Wave participants and other developers looking to enter the Web3 space.
“We are incredibly excited about LINE’s Mini Dapp and see immense potential in this ecosystem. Starting with Bombie, we have plans to introduce a variety of mini-games within this platform.” – David Mak, CEO of Pluto Studio
