Charles Gasparino Continues Feud with XRP Community
Renowned Fox Business reporter, Charles Gasparino, has once again stirred up controversy with the XRP community. Gasparino recently made comments dismissing the existence of an “XRP army,” which has sparked backlash from supporters of the popular cryptocurrency. According to Gasparino, the community is primarily made up of individuals who purchased the coin, benefiting insiders and making them wealthy.
Gasparino went on to criticize a recent ruling by U.S. District Judge Analisa Torres in the Ripple case, calling it “dumb.” He also raised doubts about the future of the SEC’s lawsuit against Ripple, despite the upcoming departure of Gary Gensler.
In a recent article published in the New York Post, Gasparino suggested that the cryptocurrency industry may not receive leniency under the leadership of libertarian Paul Atniks, who has been nominated to succeed Gensler as the new SEC chairman. The report indicates that the SEC could potentially continue pursuing legal action against Ripple, rather than dropping the case.
Gasparino highlighted the significant rally experienced by the XRP token in the fourth quarter of 2024, but noted that only insiders truly benefitted from the surge. For instance, Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen saw his net worth increase by over $6 billion due to the rise in XRP prices. However, the token has since retraced a portion of its gains.
