Ethereum-based Operating System ethOS Unveils dGEN1 Hardware Device for Blockchain dApp Interaction
ethOS, an Ethereum-based operating system, has recently announced the launch of dGEN1, a cutting-edge hardware device designed for seamless interaction with blockchain decentralized applications (dApps). This innovative device is equipped with a built-in browser and wallet, as well as a dedicated screen that displays transaction notifications and metadata during network interactions.
Powered by a customized version of LineageOS and an Android fork, ethOS has integrated its own Nimbus light client into the dGEN1 device. This integration ensures that user data is securely verified while using blockchain dApps, eliminating the need for reliance on trusted third-party Remote Procedure Calls (RPCs). Additionally, ethOS’s built-in browser supports InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) and .eth domains, offering users a seamless browsing experience.
Interested individuals can pre-order the dGEN1 device by minting a Non-Fungible Token (NFT) on the Base Layer 2 network for 0.2 ETH (approximately $520). The company plans to commence shipping the devices by the second quarter of 2025. As per Basescan, there are currently approximately 630 users holding NFTs, showcasing the growing interest in this innovative device.
