Eric Trump Promotes Cryptocurrency at Conference in UAE
Eric Trump recently made headlines as he flew across the world to headline a cryptocurrency conference in the United Arab Emirates. Speaking to thousands of enthusiastic attendees, Eric Trump revealed that he and his father, the U.S. president-elect, were actively working together to promote cryptocurrency, a sector in which the Trump family has direct investments.
This announcement is a stark contrast to the family’s previous promise to keep business and government operations separate when Donald J. Trump first entered the White House eight years ago.
During his speech, Eric Trump shared that he even called his father, whom he affectionately refers to as “Pops,” to celebrate when the price of Bitcoin reached $100,000. This milestone came after the president-elect expressed his intention to appoint a crypto-friendly lawyer as the new chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, the regulatory body overseeing the industry from which the Trump family now profits.
“You’re going to have the most pro-crypto president in the history of America,” Eric Trump declared to the crowd. “Think about a president who isn’t going to allow Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies to be overregulated and stifled.”
Eric Trump’s statements were made at the Bitcoin MENA 2024 conference, where he also promoted the family’s latest business venture, World Liberty Financial, a cryptocurrency platform. His remarks at the event indicate that the Trump family is now more open to publicly acknowledging when the president-elect’s governance aligns with his personal investments, showing less concern than in his previous administration about potential conflicts of interest or the appearance thereof.
