Chromia and Mantle-based Chasm Network have joined forces to improve the transparency of decentralized artificial intelligence by leveraging blockchain technology for data management. Chromia, known as a layer-1 blockchain platform, has unveiled a technical partnership with Chasm Network to enhance the accountability and transparency of AI systems.
According to a recent press release shared with crypto.news on Monday, Oct. 21, Chromia will act as a decentralized database layer to store AI inference data. The collaboration will involve the utilization of a decentralized application that is already operational on Chromia’s mainnet. This application will generate transparent and immutable records, ensuring that the sources used in AI decision-making processes are verifiable.
In addition, Chasm Network, which is based on Mantle, disclosed that its native token, Chasm AI, is scheduled to launch on Oct. 24. While the exact role of this token in the partnership remains unclear, Yeou Jie, Chromia’s head of business development, emphasized that the collaboration will enhance secure and efficient data management for complex use cases, including decentralized AI.
The convergence of blockchain and AI technologies is gaining momentum, with major tech companies indicating their interest in this space. Samsung, for instance, recently announced its intention to integrate blockchain to bolster security across its AI-driven home appliances. In a blog post, Samsung outlined its plans to extend the Knox Matrix framework, originally deployed on mobile devices and televisions, to a wider array of home appliances. This framework leverages a private blockchain to establish a “Trust Chain,” enabling interconnected devices to monitor each other for security threats and alert users to any potential issues.
The partnership between Chromia and Chasm Network underscores the growing synergy between blockchain and AI technologies, highlighting the potential for enhanced transparency and accountability in AI systems. As tech giants like Samsung explore the harmonization of blockchain and AI, the future of decentralized artificial intelligence appears promising, with implications for a wide range of industries and applications.
