Bitcoin mining rig manufacturer Bitmain has just rolled out two new rigs, boasting a hashrate of up to 216 terahash per second (TH/s) for their air-cooled model and 319 TH/s for the hydro-cooled version.
Bitmain Releases New Air and Hydro-Cooled Bitcoin Mining Rigs
The renowned Chinese ASIC producer, Bitmain, has introduced its latest bitcoin mining machines. The newly unveiled machines include the air-cooled Antminer S21+ and the water-cooled Antminer S21+. This launch closely follows Bitmain’s revelation of the next-generation U3S21EXPH unit, a liquid-to-chip miner boasting an impressive 860 TH/s.
The latest additions to the Antminer series offer a hashrate ranging from 216 TH/s to 319 TH/s, with the air-cooled model achieving a power efficiency of 16.5 joules per terahash (J/T). The hydro-cooled S21+, delivering a formidable 319 TH/s, stands out with an efficiency of 15 J/T, as per Bitmain’s specifications.
This release comes at a pivotal moment as Bitcoin’s total hashrate soared to a record-breaking 698 exahash per second (EH/s) on October 10. In the current landscape, Bitmain’s competitors such as Auradine, Microbt, and Canaan have also been actively unveiling a variety of new mining machines, contributing to the network’s overall computational power. With the introduction of more powerful and energy-efficient machines, the network is poised to strengthen further.
