Arbitrum Foundation made a splash at this year’s WebX in Tokyo, the premier Web3 conference in Asia, bringing Web3 gaming to the forefront with a lineup of panel discussions, playable demos, and evening events.
At the Arbitrum Foundation and ApeChain booth, attendees had the chance to get hands-on with popular titles like onchain RPG Tarochi, memecoin racing game Kitty Kart Racing, and GameFi battler Gensokishi. The booth also showcased other exciting games such as Aavegotchi, Pirate Nation, Beacon, Zeeverse, and InfiniGods, as well as promotional footage for upcoming releases like Poglin Smash and Ubisoft’s Captain Laserhawk – The G.A.M.E.
One of the highlights of the event was a panel discussion on “The role of Gaming in driving Web3 adoption,” featuring David Bolger from Offchain Labs, gemz co-founder Justin Waldron, and Oasys representative director Ryo Matsubara. The panel delved into topics like play-to-earn models, blockchain-based game assets, and how gaming can introduce mainstream audiences to Web3 concepts.
Bolger also participated in ApeCoin’s ApeSummit, a side event at WebX, where he discussed the state of the Ape x Arbitrum ecosystem in collaboration with Horizen Labs. This event marked the culmination of Arbitrum’s Road to WebX campaign, which kicked off with the IVS Arbitrum night in Kyoto.
The excitement continued with the first ever Arbitrum Gaming & NFT Night at Shibuya’s NOX Gallery, where over 150 attendees enjoyed a retro arcade themed party showcasing top Web3 titles and NFT projects. The evening featured cyberpunk-infused DJ sets, cocktails, and a vibrant atmosphere celebrating the intersection of gaming and NFTs.
In a groundbreaking announcement, the Arbitrum Foundation revealed a strategic partnership with Lotte Group’s Caliverse, a next-generation metaverse platform. This partnership will see the development of a metaverse on the chain, leveraging Arbitrum’s speed, safety, and philosophy to create a dynamic Web3 ecosystem. Lotte Group’s CEO Kim Dong-gyu expressed excitement about the collaboration, stating that together they will build a Web3 ecosystem that will “surprise the world.”
